A butcher’s shop in Wishaw was linked to the most serious E.coli outbreak in the UK. Dr Lisa Ackerley was asked by the butcher to help. She worked with the authorities to ensure that the premises were fit to re-open, helped to develop their HACCP, re-trained staff and provided reports for the defence; she was also called as a Crown witness in the Fatal Accident Inquiry.
