We have considerable experience in helping food suppliers, food manufacturers and distributors to meet the standards of major food purchasers such as food retailers caterers, hospitals and schools.
You can open doors to new customers through approval to either the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety or the SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) standards.
The SALSA standard is usually best for a smaller, start up or niche food businesses new to building food safety standards. The BRC Global Standard is certainly achievable to most food companies and can help you gain sales from major food retailers and the large catering companies as well as opening doors to international food purchasers. Our consultants included trained lead assessors and food sector experts and can help you build standards whether it be BRC, SALSA or ISO 22000.
We can conduct a BRC pre-audit before your BRC or SALSA approval audit. Whilst being independent of certificated approval systems we are very familiar with the standards required and can work with you to get the result you deserve!
These are standards often required of food suppliers by their customers.
BRC (British Retail Consortium) approval means you have been certified by BRC auditors as complying with the appropriate Global Technical Standard.
The majority of UK, and many European and global retailers and buyers will only consider doing business with suppliers with the appropriate BRC Global Standard certification.
SALSA is the Food Safety Certification Scheme for small to medium sized producers.
By working confidentially for you we can help you to raise standards and make any necessary improvements to gain certification.
Our BRC pre-audits are usually 2 days in duration and include a detailed audit report with recommendations.
Smaller suppliers may need only a one day audit – ask us for a quote (01727 866779).
We can help you throughout the process, for example by helping you write procedures, training staff, working with your suppliers and ensuring all controls are in place for your certification.
