Objectives
• This course will give food safety professionals and food handlers up to date knowledge in all
aspects of food allergy.

Course Content:
Pre-course on-line learning

• Background to food allergy and other food avoidance requirements
• Prioritisation of food allergens
• Symptoms and treatment
• Update in current legislation and voluntary guidance
• Further sources of information

Workshop:
Using accelerated learning techniques, which includes practical exercises.

• Identification of food allergens
• Assessing the risks
• Including allergy in safety controls and policies
• Making a difference – practical solutions
• Helping customers
• Training staff to be allergy aware

Duration
This unique learning programme comes in two parts – a pre-course on-line training session and a one day workshop.

The Food Allergy Training Kit is proving a great success with a wide range of clients. It provides all the resources (including the DVD Pack) and background support for 2-3 hours of workplace training for food handlers at levels 1 and 2.
