This qualification replaces the popular CIEH Professional Trainer Certificate (PTC).
The CIEH Level 3 Award in Training Skills and Practice qualification is aimed at those who want to develop practical training skills for delivering qualifications in the private sector such as in-house training without public funding. The qualification encourages a flexible approach to training delivery that takes account of learners’ needs and preferences. This course will help you get to grips with the basics of training delivery but could also be useful for existing trainers who are looking to update and hone their techniques.
Upon completion of the course you will have:
- clarified your own role and responsibilities in relation to training
- learnt appropriate training and learning approaches in a specialist area
- demonstrated your session planning skills
- a good understanding of how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
- a good awareness of the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping

Assessment: Assignment (micro-teach session)

Prerequisite: None
Suggested progression: CIEH Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
