Food Safety - Legal Challenges
A food premises was faced with 28 food safety summonses. After careful analysis of the evidence, our food safety expert demonstrated that many summonses were unsound and the food authority reduced these to nine, thus substantially reducing the potential level of fines.
A food business was served with Hygiene Improvement Notices. After careful examination, our food safety expert recommended appealing the notices on the grounds that they were technically incorrect. The evidence to support the service of the notices was also examined and further opinion and food safety advice provided. The client was able to use the reports to successfully negotiate withdrawal of the notice, thus preventing the need for a court case and associated costs.
A food business was served with Hygiene Improvement Notice requiring the provision of a further wash hand basin. Following a food safety audit and thorough investigation, a food safety expert report was produced. The local authority was persuaded to withdraw the notice.
